In general, we handle lost property as follows: If no one has claimed it after a year, we put the lost property back on display at the following year’s convention in the hope that the owner will still turn up. On the last day of the convention, the items from the last year are then given away. In this way, we want to give everyone who has lost something as long as possible to get it back, and if not, we at least want to avoid throwing away so many items.
